Language Program

Nikko Nikko Japanese

t’s never too early to begin learning a language: it’s fun, it promotes healthy development, and the many cognitive and social benefits will last a lifetime. Research shows that learning a second language boosts problem-solving, critical thinking, and listening skills, in addition to improving memory, concentration, and the ability to multitask. Children proficient in other languages also show signs of enhanced creativity and mental flexibility. Nikko Nikko Japanese teaches children at My Kindy aged from two to five years to speak Japanese. Our focus is to create a casual and fun learning environment where young children readily learn through play like activities. By engaging children in a rich and fun language program, children will grow to become caring global citizens who can communicate with and appreciate people from other countries and cultures.

Language & Culture

Language development is a critical part of your child’s overall development. It supports your child’s ability to communicate, express and understand feelings. It also supports thinking and problem-solving, and developing and maintaining relationships. Learning to understand, use and enjoy language is the critical first step in literacy, and the basis for learning to read and write.

My Kindy provides language programs for children from 18 months old to support learning in languages other than English which helps children to improve their overall literacy and understanding of how language in general works.

Education experts have found that there are many benefits to children learning in another language at a young age, including:

  • increased literacy
  • cognitive flexibility
  • bolstering self-esteem and wellbeing
  • strengthened cultural identity.

My Kindy Gardening Program

Kids In The Garden

Children are born curious. They love to learn about new concepts and approach the natural world with wonder and awe. My Kindy provides opportunities for children to garden, care for plants and learn about sustainability. Children are given the opportunity to learn by doing, not just listening. By participating in gardening activities they gain a first-hand understanding of life cycles, plants, insects, soil and all things natural.

Our gardening program provides children with the freedom to play in the fresh air and sunshine whilst engaging in active hands on experiences. Our Educators and experts use gardening as an opportunity to help children connect their love of nature and sustainability to learning and the application of real-life skills.
